App Store Link Shortener

Turn a long Apple App Store or Google Play URL into one short link that reads the device at tap time and sends each person to the right store, with a landing page for everyone on desktop.

Create your short link

Paste a store URL to get started. You will be asked to sign in, and your first link is on the Free plan, good for 50 clicks in total. Paid plans start at $5/month with unlimited clicks.

Example: apppa.ge/abc123de

Shortening is the easy half

A store URL is long because it carries a locale, a numeric identifier and usually a tracking string. Any shortener can hide that. The part that matters is what the link does when it is opened, because an app link gets opened in conditions a normal web link never sees.

Two stores, one audience. A link to apps.apple.com is useless to an Android user, and most of them will not go and search Google Play themselves. Posting both links and labelling them costs you the people who do not read labels, which is most people scrolling.

In-app browsers. Taps from Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Threads open inside the app rather than in Safari or Chrome. On iOS that webview cannot hand off to the App Store, so a raw store link dead-ends there no matter how short it is. A link that detects the in-app browser can escape to the store instead.

Nothing to measure. A store URL you pasted into a bio tells you nothing. A link you own records the visit and the tap, split by platform, so you can see whether the traffic you worked for is reaching the store at all.

How to shorten an app store link

  1. 1

    Copy your store URL

Open your listing on apps.apple.com or play.google.com and copy the address. The share link from inside the store app works too.

  2. 2

    Paste it in above

The app name, icon and rating are read from the listing, so there is nothing else to fill in.

  3. 3

Your first link is on the Free plan and serves 50 clicks in total. Paid plans, from $5 per month, remove the limit and let you choose the slug, so the link can read as your app name rather than random characters.

  4. 4

    Add the other store

Paste your second store URL so the same link can serve iPhone and Android. One store is fine if you only ship on one.

The result looks like apppa.ge/your-app, short enough for a bio line and readable enough to say out loud.

What goes where

One link covers every surface, which is the practical argument for it: you change the destination once rather than editing it in eight places.

  • Social bios. The single slot you get on Instagram, TikTok and X, where the in-app browser problem is worst. There is a full breakdown of the Instagram case.
  • Print and packaging. Point a QR code at the link rather than at a store URL, and the printed code keeps working when the destination changes.
  • Email and newsletters. One call to action instead of two buttons, and a click count that is yours rather than the store's.
  • Support replies and press kits. A link you can read over the phone, and one you can repoint if the listing moves.

Short link or landing page

Every AppPage link comes with a landing page. Which one you share depends on how much the person already knows.

Share the short link

For audiences who already want the app: your own followers, an email list, a support reply. The store opens immediately and nothing sits between the tap and the install.

Share the landing page

For cold traffic and for desktop, where there is no store to open. The page carries the icon, screenshots, rating and both store badges, so the visitor can decide before they commit.

Which links work here

Any Apple App Store URL from apps.apple.com, including regional addresses such as apps.apple.com/gb/, and any Google Play URL from play.google.com/store/apps/details. Paste either one and the app name, icon and rating come from the listing. Add the second store when you have it, and the same link starts serving both platforms.

Questions

Can one short link open both the App Store and Google Play?+

Yes, that is the point of it. The link checks the device when it is tapped and forwards to the App Store on iPhone and iPad, Google Play on Android, and a landing page with both badges on desktop. You share one URL everywhere instead of asking people to pick their own platform.

Is the app link shortener free?+

You need a free account. The Free plan covers one app whose link serves 50 clicks in total before it stops redirecting, plus analytics and a landing page that serves 100 visits a month. Paid plans start at $5 per month for up to five apps and $9 per month for unlimited apps, both with unlimited clicks.

How is this different from a general purpose URL shortener?+

A general shortener makes the URL shorter and stops there. The destination is still a single store address, so half your audience lands somewhere they cannot install from, and a tap inside an in-app browser on iOS still dead-ends. This shortener decides the destination at tap time, per device, and reports what happened.

Does the link work from an Instagram or TikTok bio?+

Yes. Those apps open links in their own in-app browser, which is where raw App Store URLs fail on iOS. The link detects that browser and escapes to the store rather than failing silently. There is a longer write up of the Instagram case on the Instagram bio link page.

Can I change where a short link points after sharing it?+

Yes. The destinations sit behind the link rather than inside it, so you can repoint it at a new listing, add the second store later, or change the landing page without reissuing the URL. That also means a printed QR code built on the link stays valid.

Can I choose the text at the end of the link?+

Yes. Custom slugs are included on both plans, so a link can read as your app name instead of a random string. Slugs are first come first served across the service.

What happens to my links if I stop paying?+

When a subscription lapses, short links stop resolving to the stores and landing pages go offline. Nothing is deleted, so resubscribing brings them back, but it is worth knowing before you print a link on anything permanent.
