Caffeine Tracker: mCaffee Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the Caffeine Tracker: mCaffee app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Brijkumar Savani (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Commercial service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".

Information Collection and Use

The Application collects information when you download and use it. This information may include information such as

- Your device's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address)

- The pages of the Application that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages

- The time spent on the Application

- The operating system you use on your mobile device

The information listed above is collected only if you turn on analytics or crash reporting in the Application's settings. Both are switched off by default and require your consent.

The Application does not gather precise information about the location of your mobile device.

For a better experience, while using the Application, the Service Provider may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information. The information that the Service Provider request will be retained by them and used as described in this privacy policy. This information includes

- Your name and email address, from Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. These identify your account and allow your information to synchronise across your devices. If you use the Hide My Email option offered by Sign in with Apple, the Service Provider receives a relay address rather than your own

- Your profile photograph, if you choose to upload one

- Your age or date of birth, biological sex, height and weight, which the Application uses to estimate how quickly your body clears caffeine

- Your caffeine sensitivity, lifestyle answers, goals and daily caffeine limit

- The drinks you record, including the caffeine amount in milligrams and the time you consumed each one, together with any custom drinks and favourites you create

- Statistics derived from the above, such as your daily, weekly, monthly and yearly totals, averages, streaks and records

- Whether you hold an active Premium subscription, which plan it is, and when it renews or expires

- Device information such as your device model, operating system version, Application version, language and time zone, and a device identifier used to apply usage limits

- A notification token, if you switch on reminders, so that reminders can be delivered to your device

An account is required to use the Application. Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google are the only ways to sign in; there is no email and password registration.

Before you sign in, you can work through the opening questions: your caffeine sensitivity, your goals, your daily limit, and the body details used to estimate how quickly you clear caffeine. Those answers are written to your device and are not sent anywhere while you remain signed out. Signing in is required to go any further and use the Application itself, and at that point the answers you have already given are saved to your account. If you close the Application without signing in, those answers stay on your device and nothing is transmitted.

Once you have signed in, your records are held on your device and synchronised to your account, so that they are available on your other devices and can be restored if you change device. You can delete your account, and everything stored with it, at any time from within the Application.

The Service Provider will only contact you with reminders and notices that you have switched on yourself, and with information required to operate the service. The Service Provider does not send marketing promotions.

The Application does not display advertising, does not contain advertising or attribution software, does not collect an advertising identifier, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Apple Health

With your permission, the Application reads the following categories from Apple Health so that it can show how your caffeine relates to the rest of your day: sleep analysis, workouts, mindful minutes, water intake and dietary caffeine. With your permission, the Application also writes the drinks you log to Apple Health as dietary caffeine.

Granting access to Apple Health is entirely optional and the Application works fully without it. Each category is granted separately, so you may allow some and refuse others. You can grant, change or withdraw these permissions at any time in the Apple Health app under Sharing, then Apps, or in the Application's own settings.

Sleep analysis, workouts, mindful minutes and water intake are read so that the Application can display them alongside your caffeine. They are held on your device only. They are not written to the Service Provider's database, they are not included in synchronisation between your devices, and they are not included in a backup file that you export.

Dietary caffeine is treated differently, because reading it creates a drink in your log. A caffeine record imported from Apple Health becomes an entry in your intake log and from that point is handled exactly like a drink you recorded yourself: it is stored on your device, synchronised to your account so that it appears on your other devices, and included in a backup file that you export. If you would prefer this not to happen, decline read access to dietary caffeine when the Application asks, or withdraw it later in the Apple Health app. Every other category can still be granted, and the Application works fully either way.

The Service Provider does not send health information to any advertising or analytics service. Analytics and crash reports never contain a sleep duration, a caffeine amount, a workout detail or any other health reading; they record only whether a feature was used. The Service Provider does not use health information for marketing, advertising or use-based data mining, does not disclose it to third parties for those purposes, and does not use it for tracking.

There is one further exception, and it applies only if you choose to use it. If you use an artificial intelligence feature that analyses sleep, a summary derived from your Apple Health sleep data, such as your average sleep duration and your typical bed and wake times, is included in that request as described in the next section. Individual Apple Health records are never transmitted.

Information that the Application has written to Apple Health remains in Apple Health under your control and can be deleted there at any time.

Artificial Intelligence Features

The Application includes optional assistant, coaching, insight, sleep analysis, cut-back planning and drink recognition features. These are powered by OpenAI, and requests are sent through the Service Provider's servers. If you do not use these features, nothing described in this section takes place.

When you use one of these features, the request contains only your local time and time zone, today's caffeine events reduced to a time of day and a milligram amount, your total caffeine for the day, your estimated active caffeine level and the estimated hours until it clears, the message you have typed where the feature is a conversation, and a sleep summary where the feature analyses sleep. The name of the drink, the serving size, any note you have written and the record identifier are removed before the request is sent. Your name, email address and account identifier are not included in the content sent to OpenAI.

If you use the camera to identify a drink, the photograph is sent for analysis and is discarded once the result is returned. Photographs are not stored by the Service Provider and are not used to train any model. Camera access is optional and is used for no other purpose.

The assistant is instructed never to diagnose a condition, interpret a symptom, or comment on medication or treatment, and to direct medical questions to a healthcare professional.

Your conversation history is stored in your account so that you can return to it, and is removed when you clear it or delete your account.

Third Party Access

Only the information described in this privacy policy is transmitted to external services, and only for the purposes described here. The Service Provider does not sell your information and does not share it with data brokers or advertising networks.

The Application uses the following third party services, which process information on the Service Provider's behalf. Each of these services has its own privacy policy, which the Service Provider encourages you to read.

- Google, through Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging and Remote Config, which store your account details, your synchronised profile and caffeine records, your statistics, your assistant conversations, your profile photograph and your notification token

- Google, through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, which receive usage and crash information, and only if you have switched those options on

- OpenAI, which generates the responses described in the Artificial Intelligence Features section

- RevenueCat, which records your subscription status and receives no health information

- Apple, which handles payment, Sign in with Apple, and delivery of notifications

The Service Provider never receives or stores your payment card details. Payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store.

These services process information in the United States. If you are located in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, your information is therefore transferred outside your own country. These transfers are covered by the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, together with encryption of your information while it is being sent and while it is stored.

The Service Provider may also disclose information where required to do so by law, or in order to establish or defend a legal claim.

Opt-Out Rights

You can control what the Application collects without uninstalling it.

- Analytics can be switched off in the Application's settings, and is off by default

- Crash and diagnostics reporting can be switched off in the Application's settings, and is off by default

- Apple Health access can be withdrawn in the Apple Health app under Sharing, then Apps, and each category can be refused separately

- Notifications can be switched off individually in the Application's settings, or entirely in your device settings

- Camera access can be withdrawn in your device settings

- Assistant conversations can be cleared at any time in the Application, which removes them from your account

You can also delete your account and everything stored with it from within the Application, and you can export a copy of your information as a PDF, CSV or JSON file before you do so.

You can stop all collection of information by the Application by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network. Please note that uninstalling the Application does not by itself delete information already synchronised to your account; to remove that, use the delete account option described above.

Data Retention Policy

The Service Provider will retain User Provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter, subject to the following.

- Information held on your device is kept until you delete it or remove the Application

- Information synchronised to your account is kept for as long as your account exists

- Assistant conversations are kept until you clear them or delete your account

- Photographs used for drink recognition are not retained and are discarded after analysis

- Backup and report files that you export are written to a temporary folder and are removed automatically within approximately one hour

- Analytics and crash information, where you have consented to it, is retained for up to fourteen months

- Subscription records are retained for as long as required for tax, accounting and dispute resolution purposes

If you'd like the Service Provider to delete User Provided Data that you have provided via the Application, please use the delete account option in the Application's settings, or contact them at [email protected] and they will respond in a reasonable time. Deleting your account removes your stored files and records, including your profile, preferences, goals, settings, caffeine records, custom drinks, favourites, statistics, streaks and assistant conversations. Deletion cannot be reversed.

Your Rights

If you are located in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, you have the right to access the information held about you, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw your consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out. You may exercise most of these rights directly in the Application, using the export and delete account options. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected and to whom it is disclosed, to have it deleted, to have it corrected, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. The Service Provider does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act, and has not done so in the preceding twelve months. You will not be treated differently for exercising any of these rights.

To make a request, contact the Service Provider at [email protected]. The Service Provider aims to respond within thirty days.

Children

The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case the Service Provider discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact the Service Provider at [email protected] so that they will be able to take the necessary actions.

Guidance on caffeine differs for children and young people. Where a user indicates that they are under 18, the assistant is instructed to provide general wellness information only and to recommend speaking to a healthcare professional.

Security

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains.

Information sent between the Application and the Service Provider's servers is encrypted while in transit, and information stored by the Service Provider's providers is encrypted while at rest. Access rules ensure that a signed-in user can read and write only their own records, and no user can reach another user's information. Information held on your device is protected by your device's own encryption and passcode.

Please note that a backup file that you choose to export is a plain, readable file, so that you are able to open and re-import it. Once you have shared or saved that file, it is outside the Service Provider's control, and you should store it somewhere you trust.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and the Service Provider cannot guarantee absolute security.

Not Medical Advice

The Application provides general wellness information based on published population averages. The caffeine levels it shows are estimates produced by a model, not measurements. The Application is not a medical device, does not diagnose or treat any condition, and does not provide medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional about your own caffeine intake, particularly if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a heart, sleep or anxiety condition.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

This privacy policy is effective as of 2026-08-17.

Your Consent

By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.
